Welcome to the CC
of SJN (Catholic Community of St. John Neumann). From our
founding by Archbishop Theodore McCarrick in October 1982 to our
first Mass on Pentecost weekend May 21-22,1983 and a third Mass
at the Lower Valley Presbyterian Church beginning on Oct. 2, 1983
we have been a "parish on the move". Our rootedness in
the hospitality of the Christian Communities of Califon has given
us an ecumenical perspective. We greet you as you come to our
website and invite you to peruse our menu and come to know us. As
you will note in our
Mission Statement we were "formed
with a commitment to Social Ministry" and are
dedicated to reaching out.
We spread across the north of Hunterdon County, one of the far
reaches of the Diocese of Metuchen .
We are a "parish of choice" that makes a
"commitment to community." We are united by a common
goal to all be involved in catechesis fueled by the Biblical
lectionary of weekend worship. We serve one another so that
together we can serve others. We strive to echo the Word of God
in our planning, living and celebrating. May you catch the spirit
of our life as you page through this site.
We strive to be good stewards by sharing our time, talent and
treasure that we may grow and preserve the blessings we have
received. We recycle and share the spirit of our beginnings. We
hope that you will share with us and email (sjn@ccsjn.org)
your reflections as you click through this developing phenomenon
of web site communication. Welcome aboard and smooth sailing with
us into the Third Millennium. May the Spirit be with you.
