The Catholic Community  of St. John Neumann
A Christian Church of the Catholic Tradition
Califon, NJ

"To put people not only in touch, but also in communion and intimacy, with Jesus Christ” GDC#80. In this way, the religious education students and families may encounter Christ in their lives, leading to personal transformation and greater participation in the Christian life of the Church."
All religious education activities at St. John Neumann center on our weekly celebration of the Liturgy (Mass). The Liturgy is the heart of our life together.
We strive to offer the community lifelong faith formation to nurture and deepen our individual relationship with God. Encounter with the living Christ.
Catechesis flows from worship and leads back to a more meaningful experience of worship. Adults and children in all our catechetical sessions reflect on the Word of God as proclaimed in the Sunday Scriptures.
Materials and ministries are available for everyone in the parish to engage in that same reflective process. In this way, religious education at St. John Neumann is Lectionary-based from K-5. Loyola Press text is utilized for Confirmation Preparation. Sacrametal preparation begins in grade 6 and continues through grade 8.
Parents should contact the Office of Religious Education to arrange for registration of children into the selected program. Call: (908) 832-2162 or (908) 832-2513.
