Many options are available for you to help the church continue its service
in the future. The following are some examples which can be further explained
in more detail upon request:
Bequests—A will can be general or specific e.g. a set amount or a
percentage like 5%, 7%, etc.
Securities—If they have appreciated there is an additional tax advantage.
Life Insurance—An irrevocable gift often provides a tax advantage.
Real Estate—Transfer can be made during one’s lifetime reserving the right
to live with one’s family in the residence until no longer needed.
Charitable Gift Annuity—Provides a tax advantage and some income to the
giver.
Tangible Personal Property—Many types or items can be gifted with a tax
advantage; e.g. vehicles, art, stamp, coin collection, etc.
Outright Gift of Funds—CD’s, IRA’s, Savings
Memorial Gifts—can be designated for St. John’s to honor a Loved One.

possible use. The Finance Committee under the leadership of the Pastor
thoroughly analyzes and examines all spending to help ensure the best and most
cost effective use of all gifts.
